Winter Couples Session at Tibble Fork Reservoir, Utah

We got a ton of snow here in Utah last week and it ended up being the perfect day for this couples shoot with J & C. They layered up with coats and beanies and gloves and we had so so much fun playing in the snow! They were down for anything so I had them rolling around in the snow, running up the snowy hill, doing piggy back rides, and of course they had to have a snowball fight. It was 19 degrees up the canyon but with all the running around and playing they did, you warm up pretty quick and forget about the cold!

I love the look of snow in photos, especially when it’s covering the trees. It’s so fun to add movement and make photos really playful and exciting. I think it’s best to just embrace it and dress for the weather (instead of freezing the whole time in something much less warm). The other great thing about winter is it’s most photographers’ slow season so you’ll often get your photos back quicker and places can be a lot less crowded!
