Tips for Your Couples Session

Couple sessions are some of my favorite sessions! It’s so fun getting to know new couples and seeing how they interact together. I love seeing their outfit choices and seeing their styles.

I’ve got a few tips to help you prepare for your couples shoot!

ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLY

Taking 15 minutes before your shoot to hang out in the location gives you time to relax, spend a little quiet time with your lover to ease your nerves, soak in the scenery, or do a last minute touch up to your hair or makeup.

It also helps to avoid the stress of showing up late, getting stuck in traffic, or finding parking in time. If you end up running late, you’re going to feel stressed out and that stress will seep into your photoshoot.

PLAN 2 OUTFITS

I love when couples plan more than one outfit. It’s fun to see what they put together and I love having them mix it up with a casual outfit and a nicer outfit. It’s nice to have different color combos so that you have more variety in your photos!

WEAR CLOTHES YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE IN

Make sure you feel comfortable in your clothes and you like how they look and feel! If your shirt is too loose so you’re constantly having to adjust it to cover your bra or your shoes are hard to walk in, your body language and facial expressions are going to show that you’re not feeling comfortable. When you wear clothes that you like and feel good in, you’ll feel so much more confident during your shoot!

Wear clothes that you can walk, run, jump, and dance in. You’ll feel so much more relaxed and it will show in your photos!

COME WITH A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Come ready to have fun! If you’re open to having a good time and trying new things, you’ll have a great time and the photos will show! I’ve had several couples tell me they felt like their photoshoot was a fun date night (with me as a third wheel!). Come excited to try something new and get some gorgeous and fun photos out of it! And don’t worry, I’ll give you all the guidance! You won’t have to come up with any poses or ideas yourself, just show up, and I’ll take care of the rest!
