3 Places to Elope on the Oregon Coast

Elopements are a beautiful adventure for couples who are wanting to start their journey together in a uniquely personal and epic way. Most couples that choose to elope crave a day that reflects who they are and what their relationship is. Couples who choose elopement are usually ones that value a true experience they can remember forever. If you are a couple who envisions your elopement to be one where you are running around in the waves, getting your dress dirty, hiking through the rain, dancing in a cave, and exploring new places, the Oregon Coast is the perfect location for your elopement.

The Oregon Coast is one of the most beautifully adventurous locations the west coast has to offer. With quaint and funky small beach towns, hidden coves, beach caverns, mountainous landscapes, and the rough and rocky beaches, this place is nothing short of perfect for an adventurous elopement. Here are my three favorite places for elopements on the Oregon Coast.

  • Cannon Beach
Known for its idyllic setting, Cannon Beach is the dreamiest elopement location. While it is famously known for its grandeur haystack beaches, it also has a charming town situated between the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains. There also are several scenic parks within the area that offer many different beautiful options for an elopement location. Having an elopement at Cannon Beach is not only unique, exciting, and quaint, but you will be getting married one of the most beautiful and picturesque beaches in the world. Plan for random rain showers, large waves, and frequent tidal changes--which just all adds to the adventure at this location.

  • Hug Point
Hug Point is particularly spectacular and this location has everything a pacific coast beach can and should offer. Hug Point is full of gorgeous natural features that separately would be a dream come true, yet at this location they are all together, making for the most stunning landscape. Explore the caverns that can be found all along the beach together. Dance in front of a beautiful waterfall that trickles delicately onto the beach. Whisper your vows to one another in front of the rugged cliff sides, lushly covered in pine trees, that cascade over Hug Point. This location is simply gorgeous with plenty of places to explore and make your elopement uniquely epic.

  • Cape Kiwanda / Pacific City
Cape Kiwanda’s iconic sandstones and stunning views make for one of the most romantic locations to elope on the Oregon coast. This location is particularly ideal for those adventurous couples who want to spend their wedding day hiking and exploring the coast. Cape Kiwanda has everything: sand dunes, sea views as far as the eye can see, cliffside lookouts, and beautiful beaches. This area can be popular during the summer months, so it's a good idea to plan your elopement for a weekday or a sunrise ceremony, which will give you that intimate and secluded elopement you crave.

You simply cannot go wrong with an elopement on the Oregon coast at any one of these three locations. Whether you love the forest, mountains, beaches, waterfalls, sand dunes, or cliff sides, these Oregon coast elopement locations have them all and your special day will be one you’ll never forget.
