Why You Should Plan a Utah Elopement

It’s no secret that I love to shoot elopements, especially in my lovely home state of Utah! Elopements are the perfect solution to the overwhelming pressure of a traditional wedding day. Having lived in Utah almost my entire life, I’ve been to my fair share of weddings — we tend to have a lot of them here. They’re often big, overblown affairs that are perfectly suited to each couple, or rather, their families and all involved in the planning process. An elopement is more about the two of you, and your relationship and what’s important to you, rather than the latest trends in tablescapes.

If you’re considering Utah as your locale for your upcoming elopement, you’re one smart cookie. If you’re not yet sold on a location, let me tell you all the reasons why Utah makes for a perfect backdrop when it comes time for your elopement:

Stunning views

While the main appeal of eloping is often just to “get away” and do your own thing, why not go somewhere beautiful and breathtaking? From the tree-lined, snow-capped mountains of Northern Utah to the gorgeous red rock of Southern Utah, you’ve got lots of options of landscapes and settings for any kind of elopement style.

Not only are the views beautiful, but they’re kind of unique. You’ve probably seen pictures of Zion National Park or Arches National Park, but a quick Google search should convince you that your elopement ceremony backdrop could be really unique and special to you. The Salt Flats and Antelope Island are even more unique ideas for elopement locations in Utah.

Get adventurous

Many of my clients have a love for the great outdoors, just like me. I love boating, hiking, rock climbing, and all the traveling, and luckily, living in Utah, I’m able to do all those things often throughout the year. Eloping in Utah is a great opportunity to find activities that are important to you to make a whole trip out of the destination elopement.

You don’t have to include these adventurous activities on your elopement day, but they’d make for a great activity for the days before and after. Basically what I’m saying is that eloping in Utah saves you an extra plane ticket because you can stay right here and continue your celebration on into your honeymoon. And if you’d like some high-quality documentation of your adventures, hit me up for a couples shoot during your honeymoon!

Plan an activity-packed day

As I mentioned, there are tons of outdoorsy activities and adventures to be had all throughout Utah, but if you’re wanting to implement some unique experiences into the ceremony or the elopement day itself, we’ve still got you covered! Utah is home to many additionally thrill-seeking activities, like hot air balloon rides, skydiving, repelling, and more! You can easily add on more excitement to your ceremony and it can be a day all about you.

As I mentioned, I love all the incredible activities and opportunities for adventure that Utah provides and I’d love to be part of yours! Shoot me an email to discuss how I can be part of your destination elopement to Utah or even a honeymoon session while you’re around my neck of the woods.
