Bryce Canyon National Park Small Wedding [Bryce Canyon Elopement Photographer]

Matt & Maria came all the way from Virginia to get married in Bryce Canyon National Park. Maria had traveled to Utah when she was younger and loved the red rock and hoodoos in Bryce Canyon, so they chose to get married there. We had to hike a little ways to the ceremony spot and the grandparents took a minute to get there, but they did it!

Matt’s dad officiated and it was such a beautiful ceremony. Matt was emotional even before he saw his bride walking towards him. They only had their families (a few siblings, parents, and two sets of grandparents). Everyone was in (happy) tears for most of the ceremony, especially before and after. They talked a lot about their love for God, family, and each other, and honestly it got me choked up and teary eyed. It was really super special and spiritual to witness and I felt so honored to be there to witness it.

After the ceremony, I took Matt & Maria down into the canyon where we did some bride & groom photos together. We had to hike out of the canyon which got us hoooot and sweaty and it just made me so happy. What a beautiful place to get married in the Utah desert and what a beautiful couple. Not only that, but they were so friendly and welcoming and it was so comfortable being with them and their family.

Small weddings are my favorite because it’s just you and the people closest to you. It makes it that much more emotional and meaningful. You don’t have to impress anyone, you can go wherever you want, and being in somewhere as beautiful as Bryce Canyon really adds an element of peace and emotion.
