Cannon Beach, Oregon Engagement Shoot [Oregon Coast Photographer]

The PNW is one of my favorite places in the whole world. Especially the Oregon coast. And even more especially Cannon Beach. It’s just so beautiful with the overcast skies, the sea stacks, evergreens, and just the general feeling of peace and contentment while listening to the ocean waves. Can anyone relate?! I loved doing this shoot with S & T. We got up before sunrise and started shooting in the cool morning air in October. They brought their cutie dogs and we ran around in the sand. Savannah wanted to get in the water (it was 50 degrees!) and even though Trevor was a little skeptical, we got in and I gotta say, I think we created some straight up magic. At first we just went a little ways in the ocean water, but once the tide went up and a wave went over my shoes and left water in my boots, I decided to go further with them. I ended up getting splashed up to my waist! These two got all the way in and we got some epic shots. We all had so much fun with it and honestly, you kind of adjust to the cold water pretty dang quickly when you’re distracted. Adventures like this are what I live for! It is so exhilarating going to beautiful places, jumping in freezing cold water, getting up early to beat the crowds, and watch the early morning sunrise. I’m so grateful for couples who want to do this too and care enough about experiences enough to make their engagement shoot more memorable.

I also love when people bring their cute dogs to shoots because dogs make it so much more fun and they kind of help you relax and feel more comfortable. I also just love to pet their dogs hehe. Scroll to the bottom for the coolest photos in the ocean water with the waves splashing on these two!

October was the perfect time of year to do these engagement photos on the Oregon coast because it starts to get a little less busy in the fall. It is definitely colder but smaller crowds and overcast skies make it totally worth it.
